Thanks to Those Who Entered the Giveaway
In Out of Left Field, a novel for teens and adults, Brandon McGinnis is missing his dad, his Red Sox buddy. It's the summer of 2004 and his father has died suddenly. Who will be there to help him root for an end to the eighty-six-year-old drought? The Sox need to win a pennant. Brandon finds out his dad has been keeping a big secret, a really big secret, and it sends him on a journey to discover the truth, all the while keeping an eye on the standings.
Be sure to read my blog article, "What baseball books mean to me: sharing my all-star favorite reads." I invited you to share your favorite baseball book with me in the form below. And feel free to leave comments about your choice on my blog article.
To celebrate my love of literature and baseball, I gave away three new, signed copies of Out of Left Field. Three winners, each receiving one copy, were selected in a random drawing (see The Rules below).
Registration for this giveaway has now ended. The contest was open to readers, educators, and librarians until July 14th, the night of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
Names drawn at random to receive an autographed copy of Out of Left Field:
Rita P from TX, whose recommended baseball book is She Loved Baseball: The Effa Manley Story by Audrey Vernick, illustrated by Don Tate.

Janet Z from MA, and she recommends Wait Til Next Year by Doris Kearns Goodwin

Tracey M from MN, who hit a triple: Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt, Calico Joe by John Grisham, Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson Changed America by Sharon Robinson
