I enjoyed your article, I just wanted to let you know that the first picture is an actor who played Will Rogers, not Will himself. It is a photo that is used a lot!

As a young girl, a friend (now deceased) danced with a troupe similar to Ziegfield Follies (a competitor) and I cannot figure out how to configure my internet search to find the names of other such acts. I'd know the name as soon as I see it. Can you help?

I knew Turid Sato when I attended an NGO summit in the early nineties at Tamara, Finland. She became a good friend. I was shocked and very saddened to hear of her untimely death and still wonder about the details. Would be grateful to know more at any time. She was an admirable person and friend.
Thank you

Oh oh oh! I love this and I am so happy I happened upon your blog. We must connect. I'm a traditionally published author, and I write about my journey from corporate attorney to burlesque dancer. I am passionate about all things burlesque and vaudeville and I'd truly love to chat. Happy to give you a download for my book as well, but not in a public space, New World Library would throttle me! :)

Yes: definitely. Too bad film technology didn't come along when vaudeville was first popular. Then my family might have been able to see my great-grandparents perform on state, decades later. Thanks for the comment.
